Part 2 - Professional Development Report
Instructional Goals:
1. The learners will create a Flipgrip account and become familiar with Flipgrid.
2. The learners will create a Grid (example Mrs. Hancock's Grid) and a topic in Flipgrid for students to respond to.
3. The learners will be able to respond to topics and answers in FlipGrid.
Learners: The learners will be Harrand Creek Elementary teachers that teach grades first through sixth grade. They range from first-year teachers to veteran teachers with twenty plus years of experience. The learners are teachers that want to use technology in a meaningful way and give their students a voice and different way to present their information.
Content: I will be presenting how to use FlipGrid in the classroom. The learners will create a FlipGrid account during the professional development session. I will take them through the steps of creating a grid and then creating a topic that they are currently covering or will be covering in the next lesson. The learners will create a topic that their students will respond to using FlipGrid.
Assessment: I will assess the learners by having them respond to my topic and then creating a topic for their students to respond to. I will also check back with the learners to see if they have utilized FlipGrid and how it went in their classroom.
Feedback: One of my learners has used FlipGrid in her classroom the past two days and loves using it as a formative assessment and exit slip. Her students are also enjoying it.

PD Video & Self Reflection
How were the goals and objectives for the lesson achieved? What is the specific evidence for your answer?
The goals and objectives were achieved by introducing Flipgrid and Flipgrid lingo to the learners. I also went through the steps on how to create an account, creating a grid, creating a topic, and I showed the learners how I have used FlipGrid in my classroom. The learners also created a grid, topic, and responded to my topic on how they were planning on using FlipGrid in their classroom. In my video, you will see that I helped each learner create their grids and topics. It also provides evidence that they answered my topic on how they planned on using this in their classroom. Ms. Dozier and Ms. Cobb responded that they would use FlipGrid in their math class for journaling. Mrs. Gossen is preparing a lesson on World War II, and the students will react to her prompt that she has posted. Ms. McCormack is going to use FlipGrid in her ELA classroom by showing her students a video on idioms and getting them to respond to her prompt.
How did you ensure fairness, equity, and access to learning for all learners in your training class? How do interactions in the video recording illustrate your ability to help all your learners explore and understand the idea being studied?
I ensured fairness, equity, and access to learning for all of my learners by providing them with the technology (Chromebooks) that they needed during our training. I also had a poster with common FlipGrid lingo so that the learners could refer back to it during the training. I also provided one on one help for the learners that needed extra support. I walked them through creating their grids, topics, and responding to my topic. You will see in the video that I helped the learners that need assistance through each step. I also provided a guide on how to add a topic to your grid and a link to my Adobe Spark page that offers printable resources and videos that provide extra assistance.
What interactions on the video show learners learning to reason and think and to communicate that reasoning and thinking? With reference to specific interactions in the video recording, explain why the interactions demonstrate reasoning and thinking and promote learner understanding of the topic for these particular learners.
After I demonstrated how to create a grid and topic the learners had to think about a topic they wanted to create to use in their classroom. You will see in the video that the learners were reasoning and thinking of different ways to use FlipGrid in their classroom for upcoming lessons. These interactions demonstrate reasoning and think and promote understanding of the topic because they were able to create a grid and topic for their students to respond to. They were also able to respond to my topic to see the student side of FlipGrid.
How did your use of specific materials affect the learner's learning experience?
The learners were able to use the materials that I provided to help guide through creating their FlipGrid account and topics. It made their learning experience more relaxed, and they are more likely to use it in the future because they saw how I used it in my classroom, and I also gave them ideas on how to use it for each subject matter.

Part 1 - Professional Development Report
A) What have I accomplished to date in my practicum and the hours spent on my professional development course
B) What have I specifically learned and applied
First, I sent my supervisor the needs assessment so that I could send it out. After I got the information back we then set up a time to meet and discuss the results. We also identified that one of the main problems at Harrand Creek was that teachers want something that is already made and want it to be meaningful. The solution is to get teachers to rethink how they use technology and introduce them to some apps/websites that students can use to create meaningful products.
My needs assessment was created in Google Forms. Questions asked were: grade level taught, content area, the biggest challenge in their classroom, one way they want to integrate technology into their classroom, the confidence level of integrating technology into their classroom. Teachers responded that they wanted more meaningful ways to use technology and things that were already made. Mrs. Dillard agreed with that 100% because of previous meetings with teachers at Harrand Creek.
I have worked about 5.5 hours so far on my professional development course.
I will continue to meet and communicate with my supervisor over the coming weeks. I will share my thoughts and ideas for my upcoming FlipGrid professional development to make sure that she agrees with them.
