Part 1 - Professional Development Report

A) What have I accomplished to date in my practicum and the hours spent on my professional development course
B) What have I specifically learned and applied

First, I sent my supervisor the needs assessment so that I could send it out.  After I got the information back we then set up a time to meet and discuss the results. We also identified that one of the main problems at Harrand Creek was that teachers want something that is already made and want it to be meaningful.  The solution is to get teachers to rethink how they use technology and introduce them to some apps/websites that students can use to create meaningful products.

My needs assessment was created in Google Forms.  Questions asked were:  grade level taught, content area, the biggest challenge in their classroom, one way they want to integrate technology into their classroom, the confidence level of integrating technology into their classroom.  Teachers responded that they wanted more meaningful ways to use technology and things that were already made.  Mrs. Dillard agreed with that 100% because of previous meetings with teachers at Harrand Creek.

I have worked about 5.5 hours so far on my professional development course.

I will continue to meet and communicate with my supervisor over the coming weeks.  I will share my thoughts and ideas for my upcoming FlipGrid professional development to make sure that she agrees with them.
